NISA Seismic Damage Information (42nd Release)

Released at 1230JST on March 22, major updates include the observation that the white smoke from Unit 2 and the gray smoke from Unit 3 have both subsided. Seawater continues to be injected into the RPVs of Units 1-3. Unit 4’s Power Center has received electricity.

Radionuclides detected in discharge canal

TEPCO reports the detection of several radionuclides of interest in the discharge canal for the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power station. The levels are above the limits set by the Japanese government. The most recent measurements available were conducted at 630JST on March 22nd.
